Estonian Première of Silhouette

The first performance in Estonia of Arvo Pärt’s Silhouette, Hommage à Gustave Eiffel will be held on Saturday 4 December at 7.00 pm as part of the Silhouettes and Labyrinths concert in Tallinn Methodist church. The work will be performed by the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra conducted by Tõnu Kaljuste, and the concert will be broadcast live by the radio station Klassikaraadio.

Silhouette is Arvo Pärt’s musical homage to the architect Gustave Eiffel, and was written for string orchestra and three percussionists in 2009. The world première was performed by the Orchestre de Paris under Paavo Järvi in Paris exactly one month earlier on 4 November 2010, and the work carries a dedication to this première.
