Short description
„De profundis“ meeskoorile, löökpillidele ad libitum ja orelile (1980) on valminud pärast emigreerumist Viinis. Teos on pühendatud Austria heliloojale Gottfried von Einemile (1918–1996) ning esiettekanne toimus 1981. aastal Kasseli Vokaalansambli esituses Klaus Martin Ziegleri juhatusel. 2008. aastal on helilooja seadnud teose ka meeskoorile ja kammerorkestrile.
Teose aluseks olev ladinakeelne palveteekonna laul – psalm 130 (129) „Põhjatuist sügavusist hüüan ma sinu poole, Issand“ on muusikasse komponeeritud vastavalt psalmi algussõnadele: psalmi kahte esimest salmi laulab üks hääl, 3. ja 4. salmi kaks häält, 5. ja 6. salmi kolm häält ning 7. ja 8. salmi kogu neljahäälne meeskoor – üksikisiku kaebelaulust saab häälte järkjärgulisel lisandumi…

Domine exaudi vocem meam: Fiant aures tuae intendentes, in vocem deprecationis meae.
Si iniquitates observaveris Domine: Domine quis sustinebit?
Quia apud te propitiatio est: et propter legem tuam sustinui te Domine. Sustinuit anima mea in verbo eius:
speravit anima mea in Domino.
A custodia matutina usque ad noctem: speret Israel in Domino.
Quia apud Dominum misericordia: et copiosa apud eum redemptio.
Et ipse redimet Israel, ex omnibus iniquitatibus eius.
