Description

Starting the season will be renowned Dutch trombonist Jörgen van Rijen together with the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, with Tõnu Kaljuste conducting.

NB! The concert will be live-streamed on stream.arvopart.ee.

Jörgen van Rijen is the solo trombonist of the distinguished Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and a welcome guest with many famous orchestras. Van Rijen has dedicated himself to bringing more attention to his instrument, to introducing it more widely, and he is rightfully considered a true ambassador of the trombone. His extraordinary technique and virtuosity is difficult to match.

At the opening concert of the season, he will be joining forces with the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and conductor Tõnu Kaljuste to perform several seemingly impossible trombone arrangements of Arvo Pärt’s works in a programme that combines music by Pärt and J. S. Bach.
