Contact the composer Arvo Pärt

Arvo and Nora Pärt

I recently turned 86. This is an appropriate moment to share with you an important decision: as of today, my wife Nora and I wish to retire from the responsibilities and tasks of active public life.

My long-standing collaboration with the team of the Arvo Pärt Centre has given me confidence that my creative heritage is in good hands. I will leave all matters concerning my music and my ideas with a peaceful heart to the staff at the Centre, who have devoted themselves to my work and have stood by me for years.

I look back with gratitude on my life’s journey, during which I have been fortunate to meet so many extraordinary people whom I want to thank and embrace: all of the musicians who have breathed life into my music, and the artists who have inspired me. But above all I thank those for whom my music has meant something special. Your love and dedication have made my life a lot richer.
