Description
On March 28, the Arvo Pärt Centre will host the concert “Music of Your Condition II”, continuing Oleg Pissarenko’s Music of our Condition concert series. This time, the focus is on a single sound source: a prepared piano with a warm, gentle timbre, whose subtle shades and resonances open a space for deep listening and inward exploration.
“Music of Your Condition II” does not aim to impose a specific mood or to “create a state” in a predefined way. Instead, the music functions as a listening tool, helping the audience to notice and map their own inner landscape: shifts of attention, the alternation of tension and release, the boundary between thought and silence, and moments when time seems to stand still.
The delicate, at times shimmering and almost whispering texture of the prepared piano makes the listening experience intimate—every slightest change in sound can become meaningful. The concert unfolds gradually, layering and dissolving, leaving space for the listener’s own perception and interpretation, like a quantum world in which all possibilities exist simultaneously.
The atmosphere of the Arvo Pärt Centre uniquely supports this experience: here, a concert can be as much an act of listening as an exercise in attention—a meeting with sound, silence, and oneself.
