Arvo Pärt Centre invites people to attend a concert on International Music Day

21.09.2016

International Music Day is celebrated on 1 October. The Arvo Pärt Centre is one of the many interesting places people can visit on that day to listen to live music. The free concert held at the centre at 3 pm will be a performance by the trio of Katreen Ristmets (violin), Siluan Hirvoja (cello) and Johan-Eerik Kõlar (piano). The musicians will perform works by Heino Eller and Arvo Pärt.

Programme:

Heino Eller – Lyrical Piece No. 1 in E major
Heino Eller – Lyrical Piece No. 2 in F minor
Arvo Pärt – Spiegel im Spiegel (for violoncello and piano)
Arvo Pärt – Mozart-Adagio

In honour of International Music Day, the Estonian Music Council has organised a free concert programme every year since 2013, which features live music throughout Estonia during the course of one day. The concert programme calls to notice the role and importance of music in our everyday lives. On that day, there will be music in traditional concert halls and in unexpected locations.

Last year, more than 200 free short concerts were held across Estonia on International Music Day.

On May 1, the Centre is closed. Happy spring holiday!
