Brothers in music – Eduard Tubin and Arvo Pärt

18 June marks the 120th anniversary of the birth of composer Eduard Tubin. This anniversary year sheds new light on the direct and indirect links between the musical journeys of Eduard Tubin and Arvo Pärt. In addition to their common composition teacher, Heino Eller, who Tubin described as their “musical father”, the two composers also share some eloquent points of contact, revealed in words and sounds by Toomas Siitan and Mihhail Gerts.
The discussion will be held in Estonian, illustrated with musical examples on piano by Mihhail Gerts.
