SEASON OPENING: Trio Palladio

Trio Palladio is an award-winning ensemble featuring violinist Eva Bindere, cellist Kristina Blaumane and pianist Reinis Zariņš — three distinguished Latvian soloists, chamber musicians and recording artists. All three are laureates of Latvia’s Grand Music Award, and in 2024 the trio received the award in the category Ensemble of the Year.

Their debut recital at Wigmore Hall was praised by The Times, while their debut album featuring music by Pēteris Vasks was selected as an Editor’s Choice by Gramophone. Recent highlights include world premieres of works by Zygmunt Krauze and Santa Ratniece, performances of Valentyn Sylvestrov’s rare Drama, a residency at Cēsis Concert Hall, and performances of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra. Trio Palladio’s programmes combine Classical, Romantic and contemporary chamber music, with a special focus on Latvian and Baltic composers.

In spring 2026, pianist Reinis Zariņš and the Trio Palladio released an album Arefa as a special personal tribute to Arvo Pärt, including Pärt’s piano compositions together with a selection of his chamber works and also two special dedications by two Latvian composers, Georgs Pelēcis and Andrejs Selickis.

With this concert, Trio Palladio opens the ninth concert season of the Arvo Pärt Centre, while also celebrating the 80th anniversary year of fellow Latvian composer Pēteris Vasks.
