Für Galina

The beginning of Advent will be celebrated at the Arvo Pärt Centre with an evening with composer Galina Grigorjeva and a subsequent concert where the internationally renowned Danish vocal ensemble Theatre of Voices will share the stage with YXUS Ensemble from Estonia, which is renowned for its innovative approach and musical experiments. The main focus of the evening will be Galina Grigorjeva’s beautiful, soulful music that has deep undercurrents, along with Arvo Pärt’s pieces, which share invisible but delicate points of contact. Traditional pieces as well as works by Sweelinck, White, Gudmundsen-Holmgreen and Byrd help to integrate the programme into a whole. The concert will be conducted by Paul Hillier, the founder of the Hilliard Ensemble and a long-time musician and follower of Arvo Pärt’s work.
