Description
Uppsala Vokalensemble is a mixed choir of about 30 members. Founded in 1964, the choir today belongs among the leading choirs in Uppsala while continually striving for even higher artistic goals. The ensemble’s repertoire is diverse, with a particular focus on classical a cappella choral music. The choir also frequently performs together with other choirs and guest soloists, and over the years it has collaborated with many young and promising conductors. Since 2022, the choir’s conductor and musical director has been Simon Frank.
At the afternoon concert at the Arvo Pärt Centre, the choir will perform music by Swedish composers as well as works by Veljo Tormis and Arvo Pärt.
