Description

Ali & Linda (Turkey–Estonia) is a guitar–violin duo that emerged in the Netherlands at the end of 2024. The duo was born out of a shared love for the vibrant colors of 20th-century classical music and the spontaneity of jazz, and seeks to find its place between these two genres.

Their creative inspiration comes from the music of great figures of the past century, including Béla Bartók, Arvo Pärt, and Olivier Messiaen. The musicians playfully blend these influences with their own compositions, improvisation, and elements of Estonian and Turkish folk music.

Both members of the duo are jazz students at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. Guitarist Ali Yarıcı is pursuing a bachelor’s degree, while violinist Linda Lukas, having completed her classical music bachelor’s at the same institution, is now studying for a master’s degree in the jazz department.
