Harry Cook (piano, Australia)
Description
In an intimate performance, Claire Cross (electric bass) and Harry Cook (piano) fuse their two distinctive voices to create a neo-classical, ambient, improvisatory work. The duo interweave the textures and timbres of the piano and electric bass, reframing the possibilities of this unusual combination through immersive compositions.
Collaborating to compose folk-like pieces, they blend & create their own unique dialect – reflecting thematically on the complexities, challenges and joys of sharing musical & intimate relationships. Together through sound they explore unspoken dialogues.
For this special performance, they will perform pieces from their 2023 album Dialect, alongside new material developed during their Artistic Residency at the Arvo Pärt Centre.
