Description

Eurythmy is an expressive movement art originated by Rudolf Steiner in conjunction with his wife, Marie, in the early 20th century.

The instrument of this art is the performer’s body, which strives for permeability to convey the essence of the text and music once written.

The qualities of live music and speech are brought out through movement. In eurythmy, one works with means of expression such as beat, rhythm, pitch, vocal-consonant, etc., in order to very accurately bring to the stage what the creator has written in the music/poem. Eurythmia makes creation visible on stage.

This movement art was introduced to the world in 1912 by the philosopher Rudolf Steiner.

The initiator of the event is Tiiu Bläsi-Käo, an introducer of eurythmy and a supporter of the development of Waldorf pedagogy in Estonia. The movement is created to the music of Arvo Pärt and the poetry of Doris Kareva.
