Today, 16 July, the Japan Art Association presented the 2014 laureates of the prestigious Praemium Imperiale prize in five fields of art. This year, the music prize was awarded to the composer Arvo Pärt.

Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra conducted by Tõnu Kaljuste will perform the music of Arvo Pärt in renowned concert halls in Washington DC and New York.

The series of seminars on Arvo Pärt titled "Word and Music" were closed with a concert on 21 May at the hall of University of Tartu.

At the end of March, the Arvo Pärt Centre welcomed a visit by Doug Maskew, the BBC sound engineer, who lives and works in Scotland and has collected information about Arvo Pärt's music for more than thirty years.

38 architects and representatives from the 20 selected architectural offices participating in the Kellasalu design competition visited the Arvo Pärt Centre and its surroundings on the 18 March 2014. The aim was to introduce APC’s activities, the grounds as well as the landscape surrounding the future building to the contestants. Amongst the participants selected to
