Aile Tooming

Editor, Curator of Education
aile@arvopart.ee

Aile has been associated with the Arvo Pärt Centre since 2010.

Aile primarily deals with the verbal side of Arvo Pärt’s creative process—namely, the composer’s quotes and his spiritual searches. She also organises lectures and talks, and leads educational programmes. Aile has co-curated several exhibitions and served as editor of books published by the Centre.

Aile has said that she loves her work, as it allows her to remain close to the abundant source from which Arvo Pärt’s music springs and which forms its context.

She studied Estonian and Finno-Ugric philology, literary studies and philosophy at the University of Tartu, and focused on poetics in her doctoral studies at the Tallinn University. For many years she has also worked as a teacher of Estonian language and literature at the Tallinn French School and St John’s School.

On April 24, the Centre will be open from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. We apologize for the inconvenience!
